Transportation Information

If you need to change the way that your student will be transported to or from school (bus, car, daycare, etc.), please let us know by sending an email before 3:00PM to tavolatransportation@newcaneyisd.org.  

Drop Off Information

• Students can drop off at beginning at 7:45am in the front of the school.
• This is a single line of cars. Please use caution around sidewalks and pedestrian crossings. 
• Going through the car rider line allows students to be let out of their vehicle by a staff member, safely.
• If you choose to drop your students off from the staff parking lot, the parent MUST park and WALK the student across the bus lane and release them at the front doors of the school.
• You may not stop or park on Winding Summit Dr. and let your child out on the sidewalk.

Pick Up Information

Walkers and Bike Riders

• Students will be released at 3:55pm.
• PK and Kinder students must be released to a parent unless the PK or Kinder student has an older sibling they are walking home with.
• Please join the Tavola Walkers Remind to receive updates when we will have rainy day dismissal. Text: @TEwalkers to 81010.
• On days that we have rainy day dismissal, all walkers will be car riders.
• Please make sure you have a car tag. You may come to the front office to get one,
• Parents may NOT park in the staff parking lot if your child is a walker. 

Car Riders

• You must have a car tag to pick your child up. If you do not have one, you will need to park and go inside to get one then get back in the car rider line.
• If you need a car tag, please visit the front office and they will print you one.
• Please display your car tag on your rearview mirror so we can quickly input the car tag number. Suggestion: Using a hanger with clips makes it easy to put up and take down.
• You must enter from Roman Forest to get in the car rider line. You may not cut in line from Tavola Dr. or Via Principale Pkwy by the community pool.
• We load around 500 cars daily, so please be patient and know that car rider dismissal is lasting a little under 45 minutes.
• We're finishing car rider line around 4:20. Please make sure you're in the parking lot by 4:00. We stop inputting car tag numbers at 4:15.

Bus and Daycare

• They load from the cafeteria.
• We have 6 buses and are usually done loading buses between 4:15 and 4:30.
• No cars should be parking in the bus and daycare lanes at any time.
• RISE parents, please park in the staff parking lot and the teachers will get your child to you.

RAINY DAY DISMISSAL REMINDERS

• Please join the Tavola Walkers Remind to receive updates when we will have rainy day dismissal. Text: @TEwalkers to 81010.
• We'll only send a text if we ARE having rainy day dismissal. The text will be sent at 3:20.
• All walkers and bike riders will become car riders.
• Parents must have the dismissal tag and follow car rider procedures listed below in this newsletter.
• If you do not have a dismissal tag, you will have to go inside to get one and get back in the car rider line.
• If you don't have a dismissal tag or lost it, please come to the front office and they will be glad to print you one.
• Parents will NOT be allowed to walk up and get your child from the front office while dismissal is taking place. If you're unable to get in the car rider line, you will be able to come up and get your child once we are done getting students in their vehicles.
• We are usually done loading students around 4:45. Parents may walk up at this time to get your child.
